Eco-friendly rebates that pay you back.BEMC offers rebates on many upgrades to your home, partnering with you to help you become more energy efficient and keep more money in your pocket.
All rebates are offered in the form of bill credits. Rebates will require submission of a contractor’s invoice and/or receipt for installation or purchase of the following appliances, dated within six months of the rebate application date.
Available Rebates
$300 for High Efficiency Heat Pumps (Limit 2 Per Account)
High Efficiency Heat Pumps must meet the following requirements to be eligible:
- ≥16 SEER2
- ≥7.8 HSPF2
- ≥11.0 EER2
- Energy Star® certified heat pump
- Efficiency ratings for heat pumps will be evaluated according to standards set by NEEP.ORG and/or ENERGYSTAR.GOV
- Will require submission of the AHRI Certificate associated with the quote
$600 for Cold Climate Heat Pumps (Limit 2 Per Account)
Cold Climate Heat Pumps must meet the following requirements to be eligible:

- ≥16 SEER2
- ≥8.5 HSPF2
- ≥11.7 EER2
- COP at 5°F ≥ 1.75
- Energy Star® certified heat pump
- Efficiency ratings for cold climate heat pumps will be evaluated according to standards set by NEEP.ORG and/or ENERGYSTAR.GOV
- Will require submission of the AHRI Certificate associated with the quote
$300 for Heat Pump Water Heaters (Limit 2 Per Account)
Heat Pump Water Heaters must meet the following requirements to be eligible:

- ≤55 gallons – ≥2.0 UEF
- >55 gallons – ≥2.2 UEF
- Energy Star® certified heat pump water heater
- Efficiency ratings for heat pump water heaters will be evaluated according to standards set by ENERGYSTAR.GOV.

$150 for Variable Speed Pool Pumps (Limit 2 Per Account)
Variable Speed Pool Pumps must meet the following requirements to be eligible:

- Variable Speed
- Smart controlled
- WEF ≥6.9
- Energy Star® certified variable speed pool pump
- Efficiency ratings for variable speed pool pumps will be evaluated according to standards set by ENERGYSTAR.GOV.
$500 for Residential EV Charger Make Ready Rebate
Rebate for cost associated with the installation of in-home wiring for Level 2 charging.
Frequently Asked Questions
If I do the work myself, can I submit my receipt for the equipment and parts and still qualify for the rebates?
Only rebates for heat pump appliances will require a detailed invoice from a licensed HVAC contractor. We recommend all members inquire with their local code administration regarding DIY projects and what may be needed for permitting and inspections.
Can I apply for multiple rebates?
Yes, you can apply for all the rebates we offer simultaneously.
Is there a limit to how many rebates I can receive?
Each rebate is limited to 2 per appliance, per year.
I use my property as a vacation home and rental. Can I still qualify for rebates?
Yes, however the Electric Vehicle (EV) rebate will only be approved if a Battery Electric Vehicle (BEV) is registered at that service location.
How do I know if the appliances being installed are eligible?
Please confirm with your contractor or sales representative that the appliance(s) meet the minimum requirements for each rebate. NEEP.ORG and ENERGYSTAR.GOV can be used to verify efficiency ratings for most appliances.
When will I receive my rebate(s)?
Once approved, you will receive a bill credit within 30 days of receipt of the application.
Will BEMC need to verify my appliances?
BEMC will verify efficiency ratings according to standards set by NEEP.ORG and ENERGYSTAR.GOV. BEMC also reserves the right to verify appliances during a scheduled site visit at a mutually agreed upon time if deemed necessary.
