Payment Options:
Automatic Draft by Bank or Credit Card

On time, every time.  You will still receive a statement showing the amount drafted. Set this up by calling us at 800-842-5871 or in-person at any BEMC office.

Online SmartHub Portal

View and pay your bill on our secure site using your credit card, debit card or by electronic check. On your first visit, you’ll set up a user ID and password to pay by credit card.  Each month after that, simply log in and enter your payment information.

SmartHub Mobile App

View your bills, make secure payments, manage your alerts and reminders, and even receive push notifications using SmartHub with your iPhone, iPad or Android device. Download SmartHub for free at the Apple Store or Google Play.

We have several BPTs located throughout our service area. See the locations listed below.


Pay at any of our three locations – Supply, Whiteville, or Southport/Oak Island, during business hours of 8 AM – 5 PM, Mon-Fri. Pay your bill at the counter or drive-through window, or after hours through the night depository.

Billing Options
PrePay Power (formerly known as PowerStat)

You pay for power in advance of when you need it.  PrePay Power gives you control over your energy usage and provides flexibility, allowing you to choose when and how much to purchase.  There’s no monthly bill or deposit; you always know how much you’re spending on electricity. It’s easy to add money to your account any time of day or night; through the free SmartHub app, by calling the automated payment system, or at a Bill Payment Terminal.  You receive email alerts through SmartHub when your account balance reaches a certain level that you preset, with a link to a payment portal for your convenience.

Budget Billing

Budget Billing is a stable payment plan that allows members to pay one set amount each month, based on a household’s average energy expense over the last 12 months. At the end of 12 months, if the actual use differs from the budgeted amount, members will receive a charge or a credit for the difference. Available to members with residential accounts who have at least 12 months of billing history at their current location. Not available for members renting or leasing their home. Call our Member Services team at 800-842-5871 to sign up.

Electronic Billing

Go paperless! You can receive an electronically formatted version of your bill via email. Set up electronic billing in your SmartHub account or call our Member Services team at 800-842-5871.
