Through BEMC’s Energy Efficiency Loan program, members can borrow up to $10,000 at a 5% APR to make energy-efficient improvements to homes and businesses. Payments are generally spread over five years and included on your monthly energy bill. Click here to apply now. 

Projects eligible for an Energy Efficiency Loan:
  • New Heat Pumps – Minimum 15 SEER2 rating and require a smart thermostat
  • New Heat Pump Water Heaters
  • Replacement Windows
  • Replacement Doors
  • Insulation – Ceiling, Wall, Floor and Ducts
  • Ductwork Repairs or replacement
The loan process is simple:
  1. Choose a contractor.
  2. Obtain cost estimates, including size, manufacturer and model. For heat pump projects, include the SEER2 rating and tonnage.
  3. Complete the loan application
  4. Receive status notification within three business days.

To qualify for a loan, you must own your property, receive an energy bill, have at least one year of service with a good payment history, and have a credit score of 600 or higher. Approval is based on credit underwriting. UCC statements will be filed, and there are filing fees that will be charged when the Notice of Approval is presented.
