| To celebrate EntrepreneurshipWeekUSA (Feb 24 – Mar 3), our affiliate, Rural Consumer Services Corporation (RCSC) is now offering online training to provide real world tools and information for budding entrepreneurs. The online academy, SmallBizU offers 25 core classes on the essentials, "The 3Ms – Money Marketing and Management". The courses are all FREE, accessed over the Internet and self-tutorial in format, generally taking 3-4 hours each to complete. They typically consist of animated slides with voice-over narration, PowerPoint presentations, worksheet, toolsets and access to a comprehensive knowledgebase. SmallBizU provides practical tools to help technicians that know their skill or craft build a business around it. Topics include finding money sources, accounting basics, creating a business plan, choosing a legal structure, understanding intellectual property, market research, strategies, positioning and more. In rural areas, entrepreneurs and businesses of fewer than 20 employees account for up to three quarters of all new jobs.
