BEMC NEARS RESTORATION COMPLETION

SUPPLY, N.C. (Oct. 12, 2016, 2:00 p.m.) – Power is back on for a majority of Brunswick Electric Membership Corporation (BEMC) members affected by the recent hurricane, and the co-op is working diligently to finish restoring electricity to approximately 100 service locations.

BEMC AWARDS $36,030 IN COMMUNITY GRANTS

May 2, 2016 - - Thirty-five projects were selected from a field of more than 70 applicants to receive funding for their programs from Brunswick Electric Membership Corporation’s  Community Grant program.  Grants totaling $36,030 go to projects to be implemented in both Brunswick and Columbus counties.  more ...

BEMC unveils electric vehicle charging stations

December 15. 2015:  BEMC recently installed two DC Fast Charger ‘CarPower’ electric vehicle charging stations in their service area.  There are fewer than a dozen in North Carolina, and they can charge an electric vehicle in approximately 20- 30 minutes compared to the 4 to 6 hours it takes using a standard Level 2 charger, which can be found in Wilmington and North Myrtle Beach. . . .  read more

NC Co-ops Honor Mike McIntyre at BEMC

Nov 9, 2015:  BEMC's current CEO, Don Hughes was joined by retired CEO Chip Leavitt and representatives from other co-ops for a special recognition event for Mike McIntyre, who was instrumental in obtaining federal funding for several BEMC projects including a FEMA grant for underground installation of distribution lines, funding for our weatherization loan program, as well as loans for economic development projects during his 18-year career as the representative for NC 7th congressional district..

ANOTHER SCAM ALERT!

11/10/15: Please be on alert!  Small businesses in the BEMC service territory have been the target of scam calls this week.  The caller claims to represent BEMC, demands immediate payment for "past due bills" and threatens disconnection.
