NC GreenPower is an independent, nonprofit organization established to improve North Carolina's environment through voluntary contributions toward renewable or "green" energy. That means electricity generated from renewable resources like the sun, wind and organic matter.
2006 Overall Highlights:
Increased program participation by 20%
Added 28 new renewable energy producers
2007 - BEMC participation is growing by leaps and bounds !
Response to our Summer "Member Matters" newsletter article has been great.
In 2007 through the end of July we have MORE THAN TRIPLED the number of contributors through BEMC. 100% of your contributions made through BEMC are forwarded to NC GreenPower.
Even with a small number of participants, together BEMC members are purchasing 11,325 kWh of renewable energy each month - - that's enough to fully power about eleven homes.

"MEMBER MATTERS" contains valuable articles on new BEMC programs, rates and other services, energy saving information, Touchstone Energy news, safety tips, profiles of local business and people, an events calendar and lots of photos and news about what you and your co-op are doing in the community.
